The Vektor 60mm Mortar was introduced to the Irish Army in 2003. The Army Reserve were equipped with it in 2005. It's design is similar to it's predecessor, the Brandt 60mm mortar. The sighting system is self illuminating and deisgned for day and night use.The Vektor 60mm is able to change from a standard mortar to a commando type mortar: The baseplate is replaced with a smaller version and a different alignment and sighting system attached to the handle.
